Topuria Masterclass in Abu Dhabi
UFC History
Holloway is knocked out for the first time in history, Topuria defends his title
Ilia Topuria kept all his promises and began the fight by offering Max Holloway the spot in the center of the Octagon. Holloway played along, waving an imaginary red flag, before Topuria defeated him as promised in just 90 seconds of the third round. Topuria fought aggressively as always, pushing forward, taking a few hits to fire back strongly.
Although Holloway had some good moments in the first two rounds, Topuria remained unfazed and retaliated with tremendous power. The right hook that initiated the ending changed everything, leaving Holloway no time to recover.
Spaniard Topuria is now considered one of the best all-around fighters. With eight wins in the UFC and a total of 16 wins early in his career, he possesses both strong hands and excellent submission techniques—all before his 28th birthday.
Chimaev Dominance and Ankalaev Victory
Khamzat Chimaev and Magomed Ankalaev recommend themselves for a title fight
The next upset came from Khamzat Chimaev , who chased veteran and former champ Robert Whittaker around the octagon in the first round, knocked him to the ground, and ultimately forced him to submit. "Borz" tightened his choke so tightly that he caused visible damage to Whittaker's jaw.
Magomed Ankalaev prevailed against Aleksandar Rakic in the light-heavyweight contender duel. He deservedly won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) in a close fight.
In addition to Topuria and Chimaev, Shara Magomedov won Performance of the Night, knocking out his opponent Armen Petrosyan with a double spinning backfist. Lerone Murphy also defeated Dan Ige by split decision. Fight of the Night went to the prelim fight between Mateusz Rebecki and Myktybek Orolbai.

What happens next?
After his performance, Ilia Topuria has all the aces in his hand and will likely bring the UFC to Spain. His opponent remains to be seen. Rumors suggest a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski is on the cards.
Ankalaev and Chimaev have recommended themselves for the title shot against Alex Pereira and Dricus Du Plessis in their respective divisions.
